He was funny, well indoctrinated into the military culture and I highly respected him then and even in spirit. A great man whom I saw last at a reunion of the 309th Field Hospital around 1983(?)

George was one of the most amazing men i have ever met. He was a very kind soul,generous, and very funny. He was the kind of guy that made you say,wow he looks at a glass half full instead of a glass half empty.He always talked to me of all the things he enjoyed doing in some stages of his life. My Husband George was the most courageous man that I have ever known.
He was so loved by so many people and respected as I have spoken to many of his friends and family.
We together faught this battle and nothing would slow him down. He actually worked right up to July 8th doing inspections. I drove he inspected. We both took each day as it came and kept on going. We vacationed as much as we could and did so much in such a short time.
