Not sure what to say?

Others, far more eloquent than I, have already expressed my thoughts about George. I knew him through the bridge group and did not have the interaction with him that so many did, where he had such impact on their lives. To me, he was just a gentle, sweet friend who was ever ready to be concerned, happy, caring or funny - whatever I needed at the moment. i shall miss him greatly and his loss leaves a hole in my heart.

I wanted to thank everyone who was a part of making the Celebration of my Dad, and his life, the beautiful and loving experience that is befitting of him. We all love you Daddy - as you loved us!

Dear Amy,
Henry and I are cousins on the Berry side of the family. We met your Dad when Gwen brought her Berry Pickin' Book to the Berry Reunion a long time ago. We are so sorry we did not know about his passing away until after the service. We would have tried to come. Please accept our deepest sympathy, and we will keep you in our thought and prayers.

It's always difficult to say goodbye, but our memories we can treasure for a lifetime. And I have many fond memories of George whom I first met when he used to do free lance artwork for my advertising/public relations agency.
Then our paths crossed again when he became a "friend of Bill Wilson."
I also had the priviledge of playing bridge with George who even closed his eyes before deciding what card to play next. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and to his extended family of...

I knew George for a short time but we shared our love of dogs, art and UT. It was a tremendous comfort having him next door and an honor to call him my friend. We are all so saddened by the tragic loss of such a wonderful person, but know he is touching the souls of saints and loved ones who've passed before. Peace, my friend.

I'd like to add that as I remember George today, I am put in mind of the poem "Dirge Without Music" by the American poetess Edna St. Vicent Millay. It so well expresses my feelings under these circumstances.George wrestled with his issues & in so doing, motivated others to do the same with theirs. He made lemonade out of the lemons of his life. Thank you, George - your memory will only encourage us in our struggles.

Never a better friend... never more delightful company... never a more generous soul... never a more loving and caring human being... than was George Stephenson. We were never the same after having met him.... we will never be the same now that he is gone. Go sweetly into the night, Gentle Spirit.... you left sunshine in every life you touched.

George was a shining light at the Ethel Daniels Foundation. I loved his peaceful yet fun loving perspective on life. He truly gave of himself to those whose lives he touched. I am so grateful he touched mine. Thank you George.
