My wife Connie was a member of the Daughters of The Republic of Texas for her entire adult life. While she was serving on the Board of Directors, she had the pleasure of working with David, who at the time was the Director of the Alamo. Aside from his many notable accomplishments, David was a proud Texan and was dedicated to the advancement of the Alamo and what it represented. I was sad to read of David's passing. My brother, Gerald (Lon) Draper was a good friend of David's when they lived in Bay City. David lived just a block from us and my brother and he spent many hours together. Blessings for his family as they find peace and comfort in wonderful memories.
