Not sure what to say?

To the Family.
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved George. "Manners Maketh Man". If ever there was a person who deserved that honor, it was George. He was my mentor at VHS during my early years in the district. I tried to emulate his ability to connect with everyone; faculty, students, coaches, officials, and of course, his players. He enjoyed tremendous respect from all who knew him, worked with him, or played for him. Lois, you were the love of his life....

We extend our deepest condolences to your entire family. George was a very nice man and any meeting with him was always peasant. It is always hard to say goodbye, but the memories of the good times keeps them forever close to our hearts. Rest assured that he is watching out for you every minute.

He was a humble man with an amazing zest for life, who had a profound effect on many lives.
I was truly blessed to have had Steppy for a soccer coach for three champipnship seasons.
He will be remembered fondly and missed greatly.

As a young teacher and coach in Verona I soon learned that Steppy was a very well respected member of Verona's educational and coaching staff. George was very helpful and encouraging to me as I began my coaching tenure. I had the good fortune to coach soccer under him on the freshman level- Step was a great mentor.George was a tough and demanding coach but he had a soft side too-he would pause practice to follow the flight of a hawk as it flew into the woods along the Peckman River!! I loved...

It is most satisfying to say life was extraordinary in many ways under Steppy's guidance while a team member during those wonderful Verona High School years of 1958 to 1961. Thanks, Coach, for your steadfast leadership and confidence in our abilities. Your lessons in training, conditioning, commitment and playing on a team set a life-long path. I'll always remember our practice. You always emphasized physical fitness. I often wondered if I had gone out for the calisthenics team or the soccer...

A truly humble and gentle individual. He knew how to coach you, correct you but he did it with such a soft touch.
Very sad that he is no longer with us.

stef- we all loved and respected you from the start. Intensity started and stayed high for us, especially in the early years of Veronas' domination under your coaching guidance. Enjoy your new life in heaven Steffy.
