Not sure what to say?

I reached out to Mr. Sweanor about a year before his death to tell him how much I appreciated him. Decided to go old school and send a handwritten letter and I got one back from him. Always a wonderful teacher, dedicated to making learning an experience. Loved his stories from World War II.

I had the pleasure of being his neighbor for a short while, and I adored listening to his stories. My family and I visited him, and he was kind enough to give me a copy of his book, and I'm so grateful for it. Thank you so much for the stories and memories. It was amazing to have known such an incredible man

I miss caring for you and miss listening to your stories. You were an amazing man and we all miss you so much. Thank u for allowing me to care for you it was a true honor.

I sure do miss our visits George. What a blessing to have you for a friend.

George was a neighbor on Marilyn Rd. My son, Ryan, interviewed him as a school project. I have the cassette tape should anyone be interested in it! (719) 351-8776 ~ Russ McKeel

What a grand man, Rest In Peace.

A gentleman and a scholar and a very dear friend!

As a fellow Social Studies teacher I was privileged to know George through our Model UN activities. He was the first and most important Canadian I've known and his knowledge and command of history was redoubtable. English, Canadian, American, we are all better and freer people thanks to George Sweanor.
