Not sure what to say?

Wilmington has lost a good man and a legend to all the kids who grew up in Wilmington and enjoyed the Zoo over the years. My heart felt prayers to the family and the many who will now miss George and June. May God bless you all.

We will miss George. He was an entertaining man, full of life, full of information and stories about animals, places, and artifacts. We always enjoyed visiting with him. We'll never forget his kindness, directing Matteau, the elephant, as part of our Christmas picture one year.

My thought and prayers are with you! You were family to me at one time, Shane you were my brother by marraige at one time but in my heart I will always consider you my brother, I will never forget those days. And Paul, you were a great step-dad to me and you treated me like I was your own! Trips to your parents zoo will always be memorable! I will always remember them as Grandma and Grandpa Tregembo! Love, Cindy Evans

My brother Jeff and I grew up at the Zoo back in the late 40's when we were kids and lived on Golden Road as it's called now. Mr. Tregembo used to buy our lizards from us when we would catch them. I also use to take my kids and also grandkids to the Zoo in the later years. Mr. Tregembo was a special man to a good many people and I hope he realized that. I still have pictures of the elepant and many of the monkeys when we took the kids and still share many memories.

My prayers are with you all at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Tregembo were like family to me and my family. Thank you, Sherry and Craig for your dedication and hard work. Your grandfathers memory will live on through the animals that you care for.

I'm thankful to Mr. Tregembo for founding the Tote Em In Zoo . My sister visited it often with her 3 kids and always came by and got me and my younger brother to join them . I have a lot of fond memories of the zoo , especially Mateau his elephant that was kept in front of the zoo . Sincere condolences to the family

We are so sorry for your loss. Both Mr. George and Ms. June were very special people. She was my GA teacher in church-what a treasure--the many great Halloween parties they gave all the children from the church and surrounding area at the Zoo will never be forgotten..Our prayers are with all of their family.

Growing up in Wilmington in the 1950's and 1960's my parents took my brothers and me to the Tote Em In Zoo several times. I remember the elephant so well. Visits to the zoo are among my fondest Wilmington childhood memories. Sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Tregembo.
