I remember George Van Buskirk each and every day. WHY? Because, George gave me a cedar framed 90"x52" photo of Lake Ann and Mt Shuksan near Mt Baker in Washington. George said he got this photo from a Tavern. I did not ask why or how. His wife, Ramona said this picture had to vacate their house. George knew I loved The Mountains. DOC Picnic at Rainbow Falls St Park

As Adult Probation and Parole Officers for the Department of Corrections, George and I worked famously together for many years in the Olympia and South Bend field offices. He had a very discrete and unorthodox way of getting the job done. George would hardly ever disagree with you – but would go ahead and do it his way. This was a “people skill” he had learned from his many years of military service. George was very intelligent and a VERY FUN guy to be around.
