Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the Vander Weyden family for their loss. As an administrator in Homewood, I worked with George on several interdistrict committees when he was principal at HF North. He motivated people with his outstanding educational leadership.

To the VanderWeyden family: Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I knew Mr. VanderWeyden best as the father of my best childhood friends, and remember the many hours I spent at their house, a house full of warm feelings and so much love. Lots of good memories. May they carry you through these difficult days, and know that I am keeping you all in my thoughts.

George was a most gracious and respectful leader. His presence could turn a collection of individuals into a warm gathering. He was very supportive of me when I was working under him and visited me later when I held a principalship in "my" building. I treasure the lessons he taught me and the time he spent with me. Indeed he was a "gentleman and a scholar" who enjoyed and used the English language to its full capacity. My sympathy to you, Carol, and to the rest of your family.

George was a gentleman and a wonderful neighbor. I have fond memories of his enthusiasm when his piano arrived. Had we not moved, I'm certain he and I would have had many opportunities for putting it to good use.

Our sympathies to the entire family.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

May it bring comfort to George's family to know how he was respected and loved by so many who had the honor of working with him at HF.

I have nothing but pleasant memories of George from my years at H-F. When I statred he was a department chairman and went on to be principal of the North Building. The years I spent in the North building with George as principal were among my best years at H[F.

My thought is that Coach Vander Weyden and Coach Burghardt made a great coaching team at RTHS.
