Cluster of 50 Memorial Trees

When I came to CIM for a summer opera workshop in 1974 George was my teacher. He invited me to stay and we had six years of music making together. Every lesson was a joy and his love for singing was evident in each phrase each nuance. With George I learned the subtle emotion schubert crafted into the piano part of an art song. Mr. Vassos was extremely special to me.

Thank you George for teaching and inspiring me through your incredible knowledge, wit and inspiration. I will be forever grateful to you. Rest In Peace.

Sleep in Peace Wreath

It is with deep sadness that Mary and I mourn the death of our friend. He and Henry both gave so much to our community, our city and the world.
While I miss the Clambakes, I'll miss dancing with George so much more.
Rest In Peace, George. We will all miss you.

What a loss to all of us in Cleveland who loved the sound of music! George and Henry were such wonderful people. It was such a pleasure to know them. Deepest sympathy to his family.

I first met George and Henry in the summer of 2005 on a tour of Malta and Sicily. Mutual interests made us instant friends! We kept up a friendship over many years, and I was fortunate to attend his and Henry's wedding reception in NY. A very special person. My condolences to his family.
