I just learned of George's passing today. I was fortunate to know George at Notre Dame and thereafter when I lived in St. Louis. He was the most creative, talented, balanced person I have ever met. We love you and miss you George.

my sympathy to the entire Viamontes' family. I worked with Dr. Viamontes, his father and Dr. C Viamontes at the VA many years ago. I remember with fondness many things while he was here. It is a great loss. Co-workers and I send our prayers.

Although it has been years since we were last together...his energy, kindness, compassion, and unique curiosity still stand out in my mind. I worked with George on several projects at Optum over the past few years. He had such a unique combination of clinical and analytic expertise. I was especially struck by his passion for analytics and his belief that they could positively influence the future of healthcare. He left a legacy here at Optum. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Dr. Viamontes personally. My only contact with him was to greet him when passing him in the halls or on the elevator at UnitedHealthcare. After reading all of the entries in this guest book, I realize how much I missed by not knowing him. Dr. Claudia Viamontes and the entire Viamontes family, I am sincerely saddened to hear about the loss of your loved one. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Dr. George Viamontes but, I am sure that he was a wonderful man. Please use this time to reflect on the wonderful memories that your family can share. Dr. V, I can recall numerous times in which you mentioned the thoughtfulness of your husband that led to smiles and the memories of your travels led to stories that will always be in your heart. I am confident that God will give you and your family strength and peace. He was able to positively impact the lives of many people and that is a tremendous blessing. I will continue praying as well.

Claudia, Christopher, George, Gloria, and family members, We were saddened to hear of the sudden and unexpected recent death of George.
