He was a kind and generous man... his family a reflection

George or as he liked me to call him grandpa was a character. Growing up he would stop by and give me presents. Usually, they were science kits and it was even more common for them to be way too advanced for my age. At my young age I loved them, I grew to love science. I excelled in school from my passion gifted by my grandpa.

Later I grew to like orchestral music. I started playing the viola, Grandpa was so delighted at my decision he sent a metronome to my house straight away....

In Loving Memory of George O. Walters, In loving memory of a wonderful person who will be loved and missed always.

I did not know Mr. Walters, but had the immense pleasure of being a teacher when Audrey was at West Godwin and heard many wonderful stories about her beloved George. My sympathies to all of their families - please know that we are so very grateful to all of you for being so generous to our Godwin kids over the years!!

I met George when we were part of a bridge class learning to play duplicate bridge. To his children: this was shortly after his first wife/your mother (and grandmother) has passed. He missed her deeply.

George was all that you described in his obituary, a wise, compassionate man. He enjoyed working with his son on the reconstruction and repair of houses. He talked of his children and grandchildren with joy and pleasure. All of you were very important to him.

The Walters family lived next door to us for many years. I used to babysit the kids. I found him to be a quiet, gentle man. Always kind. RIP.

I first met George when I would take care of the kids when he and Audrey were gone. It was a great way to get to know the family. I felt very fortunate that George was a part of my life as a friend and a mentor. I know we all will miss him dearly, as a professional and as a friend!

Our condolences to the family on your loss. George was a wonderful man who will live in memory of us all who knew him.
