Hard to imagine a year has passed since George's death. By coincidence I was just thinking about him a week ago as I reviewed the chapter in my book on Jewish art and architecture in which his work appears at some length. I paused and googled George just to see a bunch of images of him from various stages of his life--with Judy and post-Judy... He was a tough one to lose!

George was instrumental in the success of so many of our lives at critical junctures. I will remember him as an accomplished artist and generous mentor. As a model administrator he built an art department with a national reputation. It's rare to find anyone as good at so many things as he was.
