This is a decade late, but I just found this obituary and I wanted to comment. I studied classical guitar with George in Washington, D.C. from 1970-1971. He was the first real classical guitar teacher I ever studied with. Otherwise, I was mostly self-taught. I was an experience trombonist so I was able to play reasonably well.
