Following the war, he was a successful businessman, owning Southeast Subscription Corporation in Richmond until 1984. After retirement, he and Jean lived for more than a decade in Kilmarnock, Va., where George pursued his passions for sailing, card playing, and rooting for his beloved Steelers.
