George and I spent many happy hours birding together in the late 70's and 80's. He was always a perfect gentleman and true friend. He was a bachelor during the early years, then, late in life Ellen came along. I will always warmly remember our times together.

George was a lifelong expert in bird identification/bird watching and was the "go to" person when a bird related question arose. He was always willing to share his knowledge with others. I was very fortunate as a young birder in the 1940's and thereafter to learn from George and his brother-in-law, Bob Moblo. They both were founding members of the Muskegon County Nature Club and are missed. Our deepest sympathy to the family.
