Jul 6, 1947 – Feb 20, 2019 (Age 71)
KITCHEN, George William – On Wednesday, February 20, 2019 I passed away comfortable in my bed, surrounded by loving family.
I was born on July 6, 1947 in Big Rock, Tennessee to my loving mother, Mae L. and father, Joseph W. Kitchen.
In my formative years I was blessed with stepfather, Martin C. Rackel Sr., who taught me so many good things in life.
I have been married for over 53 years to the love of my life, Sandra K. and have son, William and (Jen); granddaughter, Miranda M’Lyn and Jason;
grandson, Trenton and Jason’s beautiful wife, Richelle and her daughter, Alyissa (Cody) Fowler.
My big brother, Edward “Joe” Kitchen and little sister, Dixie (Bennie) Skaggs will be sorely missed and all the fun family times that we had over the years.
My sister-in-law, Robin Rackel will be missed as well as my surviving brother-in-law, Richard (Linda) Shedd and beloved fur daughter, Bella.
This was a good life with so many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; besides all of the friendships I accumulated over the years, including a few very old friends (you know who you are).
I worked in banking/finance for almost 40 years and I had so many loyal relationships. No “regrets” and I “smile” when I think of life with exception to losing big sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Brown and little brother, Martin C. Rackel Jr., in 2013.
With extreme regret was the passing of my Mother-in-law, Helen (Hogue) Shedd some 40 years ago and the strength and goodness she brought to our family.
Such is Life.
Prior to his demise Pompeii Magnus the Roman statesman was quoted “All Will Be Well”. There too I state “All Will Be Well”. What a Wonderful Ride this has been! Georgio

Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Multiple Myeloma Foundation.

Have known Bill for many years through the "Dobler Rat Pack." What a guy! Always enjoyed our great conversations. During the past couple of years we have been great "email buddies." Bill asked me to "keep the email jokes coming." Hard to believe he is gone. Will truly miss him. Thinking of Sandy during this sad time. Bill always told me to "keep smiling." Thanks, BilI. I certainly will....

I have kept George in my thoughts and prayers for the last several years, I have enjoyed those precious occasions when he joined us in the Optimist meetings or I would see him out somewhere. I always had a fondess for his quick wit and great humor, and I appreciated his wisdom in decision-making (as did my father, who also loved George). I have missed him and I will miss him, but I am glad that his struggle is over. Love to his family!

Dear Sandy, Although it has been years since we have been in touch we are so sorry to hear about Bills passing. I tried to locate you a few years back but no luck. We had some great times together in our younger years. I will never forget our trip to the Bahamas. I can still see Bills face after we got off the sail boat from the snorkeling trip. I remember he spent the rest of the evening in bed and the three of us had a nice dinner. We now live 25 miles south of Ann Arbor. Moved down...
