Not sure what to say?

George and I shared many memories together over the years. He was a valued, knowledgeable advisor and a great fisherman and hunting partner. His loss makes the world a little darker. He was a valued friend. RIP, George.

George was a great friend and accomplished colleague. We spent many an hour "discussing" educational and political issues. George loved fishing at my "camp" on Lake Erie along with two of our other mutual friends. George stayed in contact through these many retirement years. Great gentlemen who I shall miss dearly. Deepest sympathy to the Woon's family.

GEORGE WAS A GREAT HUNTING PARTNER AND FRIEND. AS A FELLOW SUPERINTENDENT I WILL MISS HIM.

Our condolences to Bev and family: George and I had many great hunting and fishing experiences in the beautiful Iron River area. We laughed a lot sitting around the campfire cooking woodcock and grouse. We hunted around Kent and Lake counties. George loved his dogs and had a gentle heart. I´m thankful to George for introducing me to his beloved area of the UP. His reverence for the woods was catching. I respected George as he reminded me of Rudyard Kipling´s poem "IF" for he could walk and...

Cathy and I are so sorry for your loss. I have so many memories of Dr So one and spending lots of time at the Woons household. He always had that sly little grin when he told a joke. He was tough and carried high expectations of those around him. But he was fair. A truly nice and wonderful man who carried himself with class and style, even while staying true to this small town UP roots and values. He will be missed but also remembered.

Thank you Dr. W for all of your kindness and caring. Blessings to your family and my friend George.

We send our sympathy to all of George's family. Good memories from the neighborhood. Frank & Lois Duiven

Sincere sympathy to Bev, and kids Lisa, Brad and George on the passing of George Woons. George was my mentor and friend for decades, and became my immediate Supervisor at Kent ISD later in my career. I had the pleasure of working directly for George for a decade at Kent Intermediate Schools. His kind, people focused, and respectful management approach endeared him to everyone. He used common sense and an ethical approach In all his dealings on a daily basis. George´s down-to-earth U.P....

Dear Bev and family...Barb and I are saddened to learn of George's passing. It was always a pleasure to serve with him during our years together with EGR schools. We also enjoyed our frequent dinner and Civic Theater dates with the two of you. Our concern and prayers for your comfort during this difficult time and may God bless you as you adjust to life without your dear husband, father, grand and great grandfather and our friend George. Our friendship and sympathy, Paul and Barb Claesson
