Georgie Anna "Georgeann" Cotumaccio (Sweeley)
Georgeann Cotumaccio (Sweeley), 80, died peacefully on April 27, 2024 surrounded by her precious family. There are not enough words to sum up the immense personality in such a little lady. Growing up as the oldest child in a complicated family situation, Georgeann was forced to learn how to be independent and also have others depend on her at a young age. Despite any troubles thrown her way, Georgeann managed to keep herself grounded and rose from the ashes with nothing but humor, strength, generosity, and fierce loyalty. Each of these qualities are possessed by the family that she helped to build with her beloved late husband, Bob.
To know Georgeann was to absolutely love her. She was an Irish firecracker who settled easily into a large Italian family - right where she belonged. When she spoke, it would be wise to wear protective gear to dodge the slaps, hugs, and pokes as she told stories. You knew when you were in trouble by looking into her beautiful blue eyes - they would pierce right through you. (The next step was to run!) Throughout life, she enjoyed skiing, trips to Hawaii, living in FL, dancing, hosting pool parties, crafting, reading, and being with friends and family. Georgeann infused love in everything she did for her family and friends. Holiday meals were some of the most memorable at her home. Georgeann put every single living being (including her animals - domesticated and wild) ahead of her own self on a daily basis. She was known as "Gammy" to so many in her family - and even some of their friends. In the later years, life would bring her to live directly next door to her biggest support system: her daughter & son-in-law, Debbie and Howard and her cherished son, Bobby. She would need to change the caretaker mindset and allow her family to be of service for a change. Georgeann was the best Gammy and Mom that ever lived and the loss of her presence will be felt as long as we continue on earth.
Georgeann is survived by her favorite people: daughter and son Debbie Viguers (Howard) and Bob Cotumaccio, grandkids Jess Gray (Chris), Samantha Laule (Kyle), Becca Flores (Mike), Howie Viguers (Eva), Brandon, Alex, and Anna Cotumaccio. She was happy to know and love multiple great-grandkids: Evan, Colin & Justin Gray, Kaysen, Skylar & Calvin Laule, and Scarlett Flores. She was also the proud mother of the late poodle, Fawn, and her current baby, Tami. We believe that the dancing and playful banter continues in heaven as Bob & Georgeann are now reunited with the family and friends they've missed so much.
Please consider donating in Georgeann's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Providence Animal Center in Media, PA (www.providenceac.org)

My godmother will be surely missed. Her laughter and love will always hold a special place in my heart. I pray that the family has comfort in the beautiful memories that she made and know that our hearts and prayers are with the family during this very difficult time. ❤
