Teacher Gene will always have a special place in my heart. She prepared many of us for our entrance into elementary school when there were no daycares in Vacherie and I can say we were WELL taught. She shaped many lives and I want the family to know that she was truly a special person. Cherish the memories and know that God is able to give you the strength you need to get you through this difficult time.

To my brothers; People will say things like "Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal", or "To be absent from the body is present with the Lord", or even "She's not suffering anymore" and all that is well and good, but from my heart I will say to you "Cry, scream, shout mourn, laugh do whatever you feel you need to." Teacher Gene is your mother and you love her dearly. Never mind "being strong". You are strong, but life on life's terms is never easy. While we all must make this journey...
