RACINE - Georgia Queen (Elizabeth) Martin, age 72, left this life on Friday, October 25, 2013, to be with the Lord. Georgia was born in Etta, MS, on February 22, 1941, the daughter of Charlie C. and Lula B. Smith. She was a graduate of Liberty Hill High School in Etta, MS. At an early age, she united with the Union Hill Baptist Church in Oxford, MS. She relocated to Racine, WI, in 1960, where she met the love of her life, Bishop C. Martin. They were united in marriage in Waukegan, IL, in April of 1962. To this union three daughters were born. She was employee at Ridgewood Healthcare Center, where she retired in 1997, after more than 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Eagle Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her health began to fail her. She loved watching her soap operas; was an excellent cook; loved working her word search puzzles; and was known for her beautiful yard flowers. She truly loved spending time with her family. Georgia leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband, Bishop; three beautiful daughters, Debra L. Martin, Racine, WI; Jennifer J. Martin and Shelley L. Martin, both of Kissimmee, FL; five sisters, Marzee Smith, Racine, WI; Ruth Brown, Bessie Smith and Eula Mae Smith, all of Oxford, MS; Lula Grace (Walter) Kilgore, Grand Rapids, MI; three brothers, Charlie Smith Jr., and Joe Louis (Annie) Smith, both of Oxford, MS; James C. (Martha) Smith, Buffalo, NY; Grandchildren, Cameron J. Wright and Gabriella L. Wright, both of Racine, WI; Great Grandson, KaMari J. Wright, Racine, WI; Aunt, Nola Sanders, CA; She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Jennings; Brothers-in- Law, A.Q. Smith, Leland Brown, Ezell Jennings, Grover Martin, Hargis Martin, David Cox, Rodell Cook, Houston Oliver; Sister-in-Law, Gracie Smith; Father and Mother-in-Law, Hargis (Lorenza) Martin. Funeral services will be held at Greater Mt. Eagle Baptist Church, 929 State Street, on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Keith Evans, officiating. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery on Monday, November 4, 2013, at 9 a.m. The family would like to thank Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Staff and Davita Dialysis Staff for the compassion & loving care given throughout Georgia's illness.
