Goodrich Funeral Home - Lynn Obituary

Georgia Marie Mullen was born October 30th, 1945, in Elizabeth City, NC to the late William and Katie Turner. On January 6th, 2022, she gained her wings and silently entered into eternal peace after putting forth a courageous fight against a tough battle at Northshore Medical Center in Salem, MA with her loving family by her side.

Georgia, gracefully known as, “Rabbit” was a force to be reckoned with. Best known & loved for her sassy mouth, quick wit, bold personality, and carefree attitude. She made herself effortlessly hard to miss and someone you could always count on to be there while telling it how it was. Nevertheless, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt which above all else, shined through with her contagious laugh, smile, and generosity.

Rabbit grew up in a Christian home and began her journey with Christ at Saint James AME Zion church in Elizabeth City, NC where she was baptized. She later became a faithful member of Zion Baptist church in Lynn, MA. She received her childhood education in the Elizabeth City Pasquotank County public school system and was a proud graduate of P.W. Moore high school, class of 1962.

Rabbit would later meet and marry her loving husband, the late Henry Mullen. Soon after, in her true fashion, she would take a leap of faith and move her fast growing family and beloved brother, Melvin to Lynn, MA where she worked diligently, bought a house, and remained for over 55 years.

Rabbit was preceded in her death by mother and father, William and Katie Turner; loving husband and father, Henry Mullen; five sisters: Dorothy Spellman, Geraldine Barnett, Joyce Leigh, Jean Lindsey, & Lillian Turner; five brothers: Joseph Turner, William Turner Jr, Freddie Turner, Carlton Turner, & Melvin Turner; two grandchildren: Michael Kemp & Kenneth Kemp lll; one sister-in-law, Diana Turner; one son-in-law, Kenneth Kemp (Kenny); one uncle, Ervin Lewis; four aunts: Josephine Sanderlin, Dorothy Egleston, Alice Brown, & Margaret Basnight; three brother-in-laws: Rufus Spellman, Lawford Lindsey, & Johnnie Barnett.

Rabbit leaves to cherish and keep her memories alive, four daughters: Mrs. Cheryl Kemp, Ms. Angela Mullen both of Lynn MA, Mrs. Rhonda Johnston of Chelsea, MA, Mrs. Adriane Mullen-Wilkin (LuLu) of Phoenix, AZ; two sons:  Mr. Thomas Mullen (Tommy) & Mr. Christopher Mullen (Chris) both of Lynn, MA; three sisters: Mrs. Margaret Harris (Colen) of Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Charlene Dustin (Elmer) & Ms. Wanda Turner both of Elizabeth City, NC; three brothers: Mr. Roland Turner, Mr. Alvin Turner both of Elizabeth City, NC, and Mr. Lawford Turner (Terry) of Barco, NC; two son-in-laws: Mr. Donald Johnston of Chelsea, MA & Mr. Charlton Wilkin of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Kalisha, Tisha, Jasmin, Johannah, Tommy, twins: Emily & DJ; Great-Grandchildren: Marianah, Faith, Lyric, Vincent, and Gianna. Along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Rabbit touched are invited to the Goodrich  Funeral Home: 128 Washington St, Lynn MA 01902 on Saturday, January 15th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. To honor, remember, and grieve the wonderful woman she was.
