I am so very sorry to hear the news of your mother's passing. I was sure that she would endure forever. It is surprisingly often that I think of her and all of the kind things that she did for me and my grandmother and the wonderful times I had at the houses on Front St. and Hull Prairie. I have not had the good fortune to see her quite some time, but have wonderful memories. Bless you all.

As a young scalawag, a graduate of MV who was tired of meaningless summer jobs, I got it into my head to create a summer day camp focusing on the arts....to be held out on Reynolds Road. Despite the fact that I had left Maumee Valley in a fit of joyful renunciation of academia that accompanied my hippie liberation, and despite the fact that Gordon Schofield considered me pure trouble, I somehow had the crazy good sense to reach out to Georgia Welles. ...

Georgia was such a wonderful activist both in the art and plant/animal world. I enjoyed working with her on caring for her art collection at home and at the museum. She was a fantastic supporter of art conservation activities which was so very much appreciated. The Welles sculpture garden is such an important part of the museum that one could not imagine the museum without it. Both Georgia and David's purchases for the museum as individuals and as part of the Apollo Society have made...

I am so sad to see miss Georgia has passed. I did her nails for years. I learned alot about many different topics while holding hands. She was a great lady.
