Georgiana M. Barni
Georgiana "Honey" Mabel Barni, Dec. 15, 1923 to April 19, 2017 passed away peacefully in her Lake Harmony home surrounded by her daugh-ter and friends.
Born in Tam-aqua, Honey attended the Tam-aqua school district.
During World War II she worked at the Atlas Powder Company.
Later she went to beauty school and established a styling salon business with her sister Mary.
Honey was first married to Blair Deem when she was 18. After Blair died in World War II, she met John Barni at Lakewood and eventually married John on April 6, 1947. John and Honey resided in Shamokin for 20 years and later moved permanently to Lake Harmony in 1969.
Honey loved her mountain surroundings where she enjoyed golfing, swimming, horseback riding, skiing, lake activities, endless picnics on her dock with her beloved Rottweilers, her family, and her many friends. A grand and generous lady, she was never pretentious. We will miss her joyfulness and humor. She brought happiness and love to so many.
Honey is survived by her daughter Karen Barni; sister-in-law Mary Haldeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband John Barni; sisters Jane Semko, Mary Southam, Pauline Stidham; and brother William Haldeman preceded her in death.
Service: A celebration of Honey's life will be held at St. Peter the Fisherman Church in Lake Harmony on May 12, 2017. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m.
Donations may be made in Honey's honor to Majesty Rottweiler Rescue, P.O. Box 493, Darlington, MD 21034 - 0493.

Karen, know that you are showered with love and prayers. You cared for your Mother as she's always cared for you. She was truly an unforgettable kind, caring, loving, generous person, who will be remembered by all, particularly for her beautiful smile. The two of you shared a bond that most women can only pray for and for that reason alone, you have to be grateful that she's at peace and will continue to look over her Loving Daughter. We love you and miss you!
