Marilyn, although I really never knew Jerry, I heard about him through you and I felt as though I knew him. I can attest as to his being a quality cookie baker. Please accept my condolences to you and your sons.

When I was researching the history of the All Alaska Juried exhibition, I interviewed Gerry about the AMU art collection and shows. He had me laughing at all the stories he told about disappearing art, the collection, even hanging a hated painting in the men's room. He was a great storyteller with a detailed memory.

I was Gerry's art student at Alaska Methodist University in the mid '60s. Lately, I was privileged to visit him often at his place of residence, show him pictures from our yearbooks, watch him smile as we shared moments together, and even watch him point out people we both knew from 50 years ago. He was truly a gifted, quiet, visionary, and he drew out the very best in his students. I will miss him, and truly was privileged to know him and to view the world in a very different way. I will...
