Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

CRAIG, Gerald R., Sr. ? Of Burton, age 92, died Friday, May 16, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at the
Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Gary Mulholland officiating.

Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.

Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association of Michigan.

Visitation 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Gerald was born in Flint, Michigan on May 6, 1922 and was a resident of the Burton and Flint area all of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army 96th Infantry during World War II.

He married Emmajean Allen on June 18, 1943 in Flint and she preceded him in death on May 10, 1994.

He was a life member of Davison VFW Post #4087 and D.A.V. #122, Flint.

Mr. Craig was employed by AC Spark Plug Division for 33 ½ years, retiring in 1974.

Surviving are daughter, Karen and husband Charles Pillsbury;

two sons, Gerald Robert, Jr. ?Jerry? and wife Kathleen,
Gary and wife Janell;

grandchildren, Kelly (Joel) Rutherford, Jr., Kristi Hilbrecht (Brad Fromwiller), Amy Warren (Kevin Wirt) Jenny (Troy) Hazel, Tim and Tara Garrison, Emily, Jeffrey Craig, Mike (Mirjana) and Matthew (Tiffany) Pillsbury;

great-grandchildren, Keith, Amanda, Ayslin, Keegan, Joel David, Kyle Jacob, Sky, Lily, Summer, Miranda, Brandon, Andrew and Noah;

two sisters, Louise Wong and Betty Wong;

many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Grace; sisters, Beverly Bricault and Edna Terburgh.
