Weatherhead Young Funeral Home Obituary

Gerald DeDreux of Brick, NJ passed on December 22, 2023 at Ocean Medical Center. Gerry was born on February 23, 1959 in Point Pleasant, NJ to Edward and Rosemary (Wittkop) DeDreux. A lifelong resident of Brick, Gerry graduated from Brick Township High School in 1977.
A mechanic by trade, Gerry worked in several local businesses as well as on his own. His training was in mechanics but his avocation was always story telling; his stories always started with an actual occurrence and always grew and expanded from there. He will be remembered by his many lifelong friends for his contagious smile and optimistic outlook on life.
Predeceased by his parents, Ed and Rhody, as well as his brothers Kevin and Brian; Gerry is survived by his sister, Colleen Scrimenti and two brothers, Chuck (Nancy) and Gary (Dianna) as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Sacred Heart in Bay Head, NJ on  Saturday January 13, 2024 at 10 am. Join us for a luncheon following Mass at the VFW on Adamston Road, Brick at noon. Burial will be private.
