EULOGY
TO
GERALD (Jerry) WALLACE DOUGLAS
(February 12, 2009)

I have given two eulogies in my life—one for my father 22 years ago and one for my aunt 2 years ago. You might think they would get easier, but I can tell you they do not. I also can tell you the difference is not due to a greater sense of loss this time than in the past. The difficulty is that Jerry’s life seems so incredibly diverse and multi-faceted that I fear that I will not be able to capture it fairly for...

Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Jerry's family at this difficult time.

I was Jerry's barber for many years. He & I shared many things of nostalgia. I will remember him as a friend & a fine man.

Although I hadn't seen Jerry in 37 years since we graduated from Gonzaga University, I will fondly remember him as a good man, a fellow Knight, always game for some adventure. He was ever generous and willing to chauffeur friends, Knights, and Spurs around in his chariot, an Oldsmobile Cutlass, which he took meticulous care of. I am privileged to have known and called him my friend. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I worked with Jerry for many years while he was at IRS Counsel. He was so devoted, he worked long hours and lost a lot of vacation time that he could have taken. Jerry and I had much in common including being born in 1950. We used to kid each other about who was the bigger Yankee fan. I wish he had hung around to pick up a piece of the old Yankee Stadium; I know he would have treasured it. He was a brilliant and kind man.

My deepest condolences to all of Jerry's family.
With love, Lorraine Dardano

Jerry and I were both coworkers and friends for many years. I always valued both his legal and personal wisdom. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Jerry's family. I worked with him many years ago at District Counsel, IRS and he was always the consummate professional and a very kind person.

As a Revenue Officer who worked with Jerry on a number of occasions, I always found him to be very kind and considerate; a truly gentle man with a dry sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family.
