Coker Funeral Home - Sanger Obituary

Gerald Wallace Dyer, Sr. of Sanger, Texas, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at the age of 79. The son of Joe Dixon Dyer and Vetrus Cora Nance, he was born on March 14, 1943, in Dallas, Texas.


Gerald was a 1960 Sanger High School graduate and attended North Texas State University.


He also proudly served his country in the United States Army. Gerald married Donna Glen Williams (Dyer) on October 12, 1968, in Ardmore, OK.


He was a printer for Moore Business Forms for 21 years and upon their closing, he transferred to Color Web Business Forms where he worked for the next 14 years.


Left to cherish his memory are his wife Donna Dyer of Sanger, TX; two daughters, Samie Leigh Shelby of Aubrey, TX and Shawn Walker of Gainesville, TX; two sons, Gerald Wallace Dyer II of Sanger, TX and Joel Daniel Dyer of Sanger, TX. Eleven cherished grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Joann Odom.


In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be given to a Mental Health Charity of your choice to honor Gerald’s memory.
