I just discovered this sad news while browsing the Internet. I have many Marine Corps photos of Jerry if the family would like to see them.

I cant express how sorry I am to hear about Jerry. For the past 45 years I've known him he has always brought a smile to those he met, particularly with one of his favorite lines: "that reminds me of a joke." and something always did.
I am sorry I am unable to attend his service but be assured that he and your family will be in my prayers, that god will grant you his peace and comfort.
Jerry will certainly be a loss to his family, friends, and all those he would...

Dear Egan Family, I am an old grade school friend of Jerry. His warm constant smile, quiet ways, and the many giggles we had will always be in my memories. My prayers and deepest sympathy are with you.

Although I am not family nor a close friend, I knew Jerry for many years. He was a prince of a man....dignified, subtle and humorous.

"To laugh often...to win the affection of children...to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier...

happy days
My heart aches for the Egan family. Jerry has left us with so many wonderful memories, like the time we walked through the Morton Arboretum and he said, "this is just a complete waste of a beautiful golf course". He was a beautiful man who's funny and gentle spirit will be missed.
