Gerald Leon Fine, 66, of 651 Broken Chimney Road, died Thursday, August 14, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 8, 1942, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Boyd William Fine and Margaret Waldrop Fine Post. He was a former construction superintendent with various companies and of the Baptist faith. He was a Sergeant 1st Class U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and the recipient of two bronze stars. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Ruth Hammett Fine; three daughters, Teresa Whittington and her husband Richard of Vancouver, WA, Denise Sprouse Watts and her husband Bryan of Campobello, and Page Sprouse Pettit and her husband Mark of Cowpens; a son, Vincent Fine and his wife Shelley of Chesnee; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Floyd�s Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2008, at Floyd�s Boiling Springs Chapel conducted by the Rev. Larry Fleming. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Gibbs Cancer Center, SRMC Foundation, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
