Not sure what to say?

Jerry may be gone but never forgotten as long as someone wears a Cubs uniform. A twirling thumb then "Cubbies, Cubbies, Cubbies". Flood was forever the optimist. He was special.

I feel sorry for all the students who never got a chance to know Jerry Flood. He was one of the greatest and kindest teachers I ever had. Thank you for everything you taught me. I'll miss you Mr.Flood.

Cubbies will be world champs! I guess Jerry never realized that but he lived it. Vodka Gimlets, Bobby Knight and IU, birthday parties at Marty's, All Star game parties, golf on Tuesdays and hanging out. Those are some of the things I remember about "Flood". Where ever you went, north of the river, every body knew Flood. We will miss him, but I'm glad I knew him.

No teacher was able to make you feel more welcomed or enthusiastic about starting the school day at BGHS. God Bless him and his family.

Jerry was one of a kind. I never saw him without a big smile on his face. The photo he gave me several years ago pictures him as a young man standing in front of a tractor at the family's Deer Creek Farm. It sits proudly on our mantle as we are the present owners of part of that farm. Through that photo his wonderful smile will always grace a part of this farm he worked. You were one of the good guys Jerry. May you rest in peace.

Mr. flood was a great guy , hands down. He always had a smile on his face and had something good to say about everyone. It amazing me how someone whom you've only known briefly can touch your life as well the lives around you. I believe that is, a true test of a man, and Jerry was the best of them. - Diego Gonzalez (River Forest)

We are sorry to hear of Jerry's passing, know that thoughts and prayers are with the family. Jerry was a kind person who was truly an inspiration to many kids, mine included. His was always the first Christmas card we recv'd every year, we enjoyed hearing the news he had from Indiana.
Peace be with him!

Mr. Flood will truly be missed. He was a great friend and teacher and was always there for the class of 90. I am proud to be one of "Jerry's Kids". Rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Jerry's family. I was very shocked too hear of Jerry's near death illness. I finally called St. Anthony's Hospice and got the news of his death. Jerry sent me a Christmas card four weeks ago and no word of his cancer. We were buddies since CPHS and pen pals since. I last saw Jerry 18 mos. ago and he was fine. I guess he didn't want me too know. Jerry was a great friend & will be remembered forever. R.I.P. Jerry
