Not sure what to say?

To sweet Helene, Kari, Jon & Briita,
By faith, your precious hearts and souls can be at peace knowing that Jerry is in the glorious embrace of our Lord and Savior. 57 years seems too short of a life so well lived by Jerry, yet, he did live a lifetime full of love of family, friends and a community appreciating all that he has done. Now he stands in the beauty of heavens mighty glory filled with joy so immence that no one on earth can imagine that eternal victory, that the race of life is...

Our son Robert just called from Korea to give us the news about Jerry, and we just want to say that we are so sorry for your loss and the loss of everyone who knew him. Our thoughts, love and prayers go out to you all.

We met the Foss family when Robert was in Junior High playing basketball and have such fond memories of those times. Jerry was the kind of coach that every young man should have; fair, encouraging, fun. Their home was always open to the boys . God brings many kinds...

We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Your family is in our thoughts, hearts and prayers. The memories that we have are many-from Ron's days in basketball and childhood days to the loving, welcoming home you shared while watching Ivy. Jerry will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Jerry,
I first met you in 6th grade when you coached our traveling basketball team. My favorite memories from those years were are trips to Grand Rapids for there Winter Tournaments. I see buddies from the team and we still talk about those trips! You always kept in touch with everyone and never forgot anyones name and Columbia Heights will miss you. It was great running the scoreboard and you doing the scorebook two years ago for the Heights Varsity girls and getting a chance to hang...

Growing up, Jerry was always one to make me smile. Those memories will never be forgotten. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Foss Family,
We are deeply saddened by the news that Jerry has passed away. Jerry will be remembered for many things, but most of all as a basketball coach when basketball was the most fun. He will be missed.

Jerry was one of most generous individuals I've had the pleasure of meeting in the span of my life’s journeys. The City of Columbia Heights owes a great deal of gratitude to him for that. For there was no greater advocate, supporter, and volunteer that could match his uncontained exuberance and gregarious warmth.

My fondest memory was his instant procurement of popcorn whenever I wandered in to watch a Hylander game. He never needed to do that, but that was his nature. No doubt our...

My heart goes out to the Foss family and everyone else that Jerry's humor, smile, and love touched. A memory of mine is when Jon was in basketball in junior high, Jerry was always willing to pick the girls up - meaning anyone we could squish in the car, and we would all sing "Peanut Butter and Jelly" - which is just one of the goofy songs/tapes we listened to in our long rides to and from the games. He always had positive things to say and was a great mentor to all of us that knew him! He...
