Gerald was a great primo and friend to our family (Silvino Ortiz family) in Garfield, Loma Parda New Mexico. He loved to come down and talk to the people,(his people) down in theranchos. He was a humble and caring person. Even though my father "Silvino" was not an educated man and spoke little english, Gerald always treated him with dignity and respect. Dear Gerald's Family,
I met Gerald over the phone and emails because we shared a common passion - family history. He seemed like a wonderful person and I wish I had met him in person, but I met him in spirit. I will miss sharing our history with him. Peace be with you. Love, Prima Vera Lucero Las Cruces, NM

Gerald and I were Instructors in "A" Flight at Reese AFB,TX. He was a great instructor and friend. I have many wonderful memories of our camping trips to his uncles' ranch near Santa Rosa, NM. Their wonderful hospitality to us “Gringos” was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Gerald will be missed by all who knew him and I pray for God's blessings on his family and friends in this time of mourning.

My heart goes out to his entire group of friends, co-workers, family and my sister Carey for this great loss. I will miss you Gerald and think of you often....may peace be with you. The...
