One of my favorite teachers! Went to LC in 1961-1964. So many fond memories in that choir room! He always called me “the rowdy alto”! He picked me to go to All State Choir in 1964. A wonderful experience & a long time memory! Thank you Mr.Hartley for all you did for music for Spokane! Enjoyed reading all the things you were involved in. Didn’t know any of that as a high school student! RIP!

Mr. Hartley has been the single most significant influence on my musical life. He taught me to distinguish between music that is profound and that which is not. I have spent a lifetime following that example he set for me while attending Lewis and Clark High School on the 1960's. In loving memory of Gerald Hartley I say thank you. Thomas Kelly
