Gerald Ross McCadden, 70, of Roanoke, VA went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 26, 2022.  He was born on August 23, 1952 in Roanoke, VA, the son of Lyndon Carrington McCadden Sr. and Doretha Blanch Ross who both preceded him in death.


 Gerald attended Jefferson High School in Roanoke.  He worked several jobs throughout his lifetime, he longest tenure was at Roanoke Times and World News. Before retirement, he was an overnight truck driver for Landstar trucking company.  Gerald loved his family and one of his favorite past times was watching football with his sons and seeing his grandsons play football.  He has always been an avid Pittsburg Steeler fan.


 Those left to cherish his memory, sons, Scott Ross McCadden (Amanda), Jamie Len McCadden (Angie), grandsons, Donte’ McCadden, Dion (Scottie) Harmon, Jalen McCadden and Jordan McCadden, his brothers and sisters Lyndon “Butch” McCadden (deceased), Marilyn Reynolds (Roland), Donald “Donnie” McCadden, Carol Poindexter (deceased) (Steve), Debra Walker (John), Eugene “Geno” McCadden (Patricia), Carrington McCadden (deceased) (Michelle) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.


A funeral service will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, 10:00AM at Serenity. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park
