Joyce Funeral Home - Waltham Obituary

Little changed about Gerry Nugent through his nearly 89 years…in particular his signature haircut (flat top), his affable personality, wonderful sense of humor and gifted ability to quietly make a difference! Mother Teresa said 'Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things...

Not sure what to say?

To Joe and family, Im so sorry for your loss. I wish you love and peace...

I just learned of this loss of another family member and send my heartfelt condolences to the rest of the family from someone who greatly misses all of you, most natably at this time of such sorrow. Hope to see my family soon and convey in person what is in my heart.

Matt and the Nugent family, We were saddened to hear of your Dads passing. I was fortunate to coach Matt and got to meet Gerry and Frankie on soccer fields for a number of years. Gerry was one of the parents I was always happy to see at practice or a game because he was a positive person and knew the world didn't revolve around the score of the game. He had a dry sense of humor and a big heart, but of course you all know that. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. In sympathy...

To the Nugent Family,

Many years ago, I was introduced to all of you as your late mother and I studied for our Master's degrees @ Anna Maria College in Paxton.

You were ALL with us in May of 1976 when your Mom ad I received our degrees though "little" Matthew had not quite made his appearance but was safely tucked away inside your Mom!

Your dear parents were one of the most loving, caring, fun couples that I have ever met in my 68 years. I always wanted to be just like...

Condolences to the Nugent Family. Gerry was always a gracious person. Although I only knew them in social circles, he and Frankie were a fun couple with great senses of humor. Gerry will be missed. Reunited with his beloved Frankie.

Our deepest sympathy to the Nugent family. Gerry always understood the importance of helping others. He was always willing to sort out a problem and did it with class and dignity. Gerry and Frankie were a dynamic duo and were the best of people. Love and Hugs to the family.

Gerry was no bureaucratic administrator. He was a caring social worker first and foremost. I was lucky to have worked for Gerry from the DCG days to the DSS days. He was an outstanding leader who ably mixed common sense, a sense of humor and compassion. It was great being part of his Regional Office team and his Friday Green Hill foursome! Rest in peace dear friend.

How saddened we were to hear of Gerry's passing. Lots of fond memories of he and Frankie and the Nugent family.

It might be an old adage but it certainly applies, they truly don't "make them" like Gerry anymore. A loss for all.

I was very blessed to be adopted by Gerry (And Frankie). So many memories of them and their children, in particular Kathy and Matt. Gerry will be missed by so many. He will now be joining the love of his life, looking down upon us all.
