I have such fond memories of Gerry Ridge. He was always fun to talk with and really cared about everyone- especially his grandchildren. Rest in Peace.

Gerry was my baseball coach at St Mary's in mid-60's and was an easy guy to play for, but appreciate knowledge of the game and a heads-up play. Told me as a senior that I could make a good coach someday. Years later, when was named Globe Coach of Year in 1996 while at Brookline High, got a letter in the mail with the clipping from coach with the words- "Congrats, I told you so." Very gentle and nice guy who I grew to appreciate as time went on. RIP.
