Gerald Chandler Schwertfeger

I find it difficult to express the depth of my shock and sorrow at the news of Gerry's passing. Gerry was my roommate in our freshman year at Haverford College and we remained friends through our four years there. We last spoke at a reunion in I don't even remember what year, but I value that memory. My deepest condolences to his husband, his sister and her family and to all those who knew and loved him. Our 50th class reunion is this year, and I will certainly miss him there.

Gerry was a college classmate and roommate in graduate school for 2 years. His death is a bit of a shock. Although we had been out of touch for many years my memories are strong and he will be missed.

Jerry was a nice guy who, as far as I know, was liked by virtually everyone. I hadn't seen Jerry since we graduated from Aiken High. Apparently he did quite well after that momentous occasion. To his husband and other relatives, please accept my sincerest condolences. To Jerry, Good luck, Bud. Hope we can get together again and share some memories when my turn comes.

Jerry was fun in band and French class our senior year at Aiken High...class of 1962!
So glad to know that he continued to find joy in music and meaning as he sought to serve others in his interactions with his international friends and creative work.
