The world has lost a force for good. Our sympathy to Chubb's family. Peter and Diane Vandermeer (Holland, Mich)

We were so saddened to hear of Chub's passing. We have such fond memories of visiting with both of you at Jack and Joann's home at Gun Lake, when we had a cottage there. Praying that the Great Comforter with give you His comfort now and in the days ahead. Larry and Ruth

I didn't know you, but thank you for your service to our community. It's a better place because of you. RIP Officer Steele. Irene Dieterman. Grandville MI.

I knew Gerry when I was a deputy with the KCSD many years ago. Although never close friends I found him to be a delightful, intelligent, and dedicated GRPD officer. One that it was a pleasure to enjoy a cup of coffee with a trooper or two and other officers with toward the end of a slow night shift at (the long gone)Pritchard's Restaurant on Plainfield at the East Beltline Ave. while we solved the world's problems. S'long Gerry.

My sincere sympathy to the Steele Family. He was a very dear friend to my Mom (Marian Cichon-who worked for Jerry). He was a great man and I know he will be dearly missed. May Jesus give you peace! MaryAnn Blauwkamp (neighbor in Caravelle Village)

Sincerest sympathies from the Eichhorn family.

Jerry and his brother Dick were early mentors to many younger officers in the Grand Rapids area. I was one of those and extend my deepest sympathy to the Steele Family at their loss.

~Don Yerrick - Former Kentwood Lt. (Ret.)
