GERALD STERN

I am so saddened to read that Jerry Stern passed away recently. I was introduced to him in 1993 by my dear friend Bob Flowers when I was a much younger Texas state trial judge and was chair of the ABA trial judges ethics committee. I remember sending him my old 1955 Mutual Baseball Almanac that featured his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers world champion team, and I found him to be such a kind, delightful, honorable man. Serving on the Commission on judicial Conduct for 17 years under Gerry's leadership was among the most satisfying and informative experiences I have ever had. He was fearless and undauntingly committed to truth and justice. I learned so much from those years. I'm deeply saddened by his passing. Ruth: My sincerest condolences. In memory of a man who dedicated his life to justice.

Gerry was a superb lawyer and a remarkable human being. He was an excellent professor of law at Pace University, a prolific author and a trusted and highly respected friend who will be sorely missed by many.
