Happy was one of my training officers and as a rookie we rode together to work as I lived just north of him. Jerry set a great example and always had a positive attitude. A great cop and a distinguished Marine! RIP Pappy.

Oh Pappy, you were a Great mentor and friend. You helped me set a record of training officers on my first day on the road fresh out of the academy. Yes, you were number three on the 8 hour shift. I don´t recall why that happened. Anyway, I feel blessed to of known you and I learned a lot from you on how to be a compassionate Policeman. You were also a friend of my grandparents and attended the same church as them. May God be with you and your family during these times. You will be missed

I worked with Gerry at the Aurora Police Department , in the Fraud detail. He was a very good detective. He was known as "Pappy" in the bureau as he was the oldest in the bureau. We went to a fraud conference in Reno and stayed at The Nugget hotel. One night I tried to get into my bed only to find he had short sheeted the blankets. He laughed long time after that. He was one of the good guys. My sympathies to his family.
