Uncle Jerry, I'll miss your surprise summer visits. Instead, you are "home" at last with my mom who said she would be waiting for you if she went first, which she did. You've given me a bank of memories, and I'll always remember your generosity as I wear those comfortable sandals you gave me.

Today we gave Jerry a final send off. Nieces Rosemary Jones Hatton, Anna Hatton, Kathy Baker Parilla, and Suzanne McCormick,along with Cousin George Nies and myself sure hope Jerry enjoyed the Honors Ceremony. Jerry didn't like funerals and didn't go to them, but he made it to the cemetery on time and the sun came out to burn off the fog. May he be enjoying the family reunion. We miss them all.

Uncle Jerry:

It was a lot of fun growing up, having you as an uncle. Thanks for not getting mad when I used to pound you on the shoulder. You were my favorite uncle. Say hello to my mother, and tell her how much we miss her. You will also be missed.
