Gerald was a beloved citizen of Tarboro, North Carolina. I met him soon after I arrived there and he and his wife Pat remained good friends throughout my 15 years in Tarboro. I will never forget Gerald's intelligence, sense of humor, and his dedication to Howard Memorial Church. I was in the same Sunday School as Gerald. His memory will live on in the good deeds he performed. He was a good, good man.

Gerald and I were neighbors growing up and I enjoyed and give thanks for many years together. If I had to give a one sentence description of our growing -up years it would be "we spent many hours playing cowboys". It was real because we had horses and every available opportunity we were riding. He was my cousin, my friend, my advisor, and my agent. My earthly sadness fades as I rejoice in knowing that he is with his Lord. My love to his wonderful family.
