Not sure what to say?

I was terribly saddened to hear of your loss. I had Mr. Wiley for his Futurity class at Sacramento City College. He was patient, always interested in his students welfare, terrific teacher, and a wonderful mentor. I had the pleasure of one summer to type and illustrate Mr. Wiley's syllabus for his Futurity class. It was my first job; and he paid me from his own money. Mr. Wiley was the greatest of human beings -- compassionate. Also, I was a tutor to his Physical Geography class. One of his...

Hi Gerry,

As a member of the great group that flew with you at Neuby and Evreux, I will never forget your ability to make every one a part of the organization. You made us laugh, you made us cry, but most of all you made us a group that loved and respected each other. God Bless you Gerry Wiley.

Mr Wiley was a great influence on me. He gave direction and made learning a great experience. His personal nature and willingness to add knowledge was always appreciated by this once young college student. Inspired me to follow in his footsteps as a teacher. Without a doubt one of the best teachers I have ever been privileged to know.

I had the honor and pleasure of flying with Gerry at Neubiberg, Germany during the period 1955-56, when he was PIC and I was CP.

I was an innocent 2nd Lt. when Gerry asked me to assist in getting a certain young lady aboard a C-119 we flew in a formation flight. The lady appeared at my BOQ, I loaned her a flight suit and crew hat, she passed for a crew member when we were delivered to our assigned A/C for the flight.

As far as I know, nobody ever knew that a young lady...

I spent 30 years of my life in the USAF, and during that time I met many characters. Jerry Wiley was one person I met along the way who could only be described as .. unforgettable.
I served with Jerry at Neubiberg AB,Germany, when he was a pilot in the 39th TCS. His antics when dropping army paratroopers are still legendary and fondly remembered with a smile by those who observed his routine. Those troopers couldn't wait to jump out when in the air, as they were convinced their C-119...

Jerry was a friend to everyone he met. With a ready smile and a very creative mind, he brought laughter to those fortunate enough to have the chance to meet him.

Jerry and I flew many, many C-119 missions together from Neubiberg
AB, Ger., but the most memorable
was the ferry flight of a C-119 from Evreux AB, FR to Davis Field,
Oklahoma by way of Bermuda. What a memorable experience to be Jerry's co-pilot at 9,000 feet over the Atlantic Ocean en route to a small...
