Columbus, Georgia- Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Brundidge will be Friday 1:00EDT October 20, 2017 at Andrew Chapel AME Zion Church Hurtsboro, Alabama. Visitation is 3-7 today according to Battle & Battle Funeral Home.
Geraldine Tate Brundidge, affectionately known as Cookie, was born on August 5, 1955 in Columbus, Georgia to the late George and Marie Harris Tate.
Geraldine accepted Christ at an early age. She attended school in Russell County, Alabama, graduating from Russell County High School in 1973. She married her high school sweetheart, O.B. Brundidge on November 23, 1974, and to this union three sons were born.
Geraldine worked in many different fields throughout her life. She spent the last several years primarily as a homemaker and caretaker for her grandchildren and anyone else who needed her.
Geraldine left her earthly vessel and went home to our Lord on October 14, 2017 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Meeting her upon her heavenly arrival, in addition to her parents, were her brothers George Tate and James Kindrex.
Geraldine leaves behind her husband of 42 years, O.B. Brundidge, her sons Antowan and his wife Kimberley, Antonio, and Anthony. Her sons blessed her with six grandchildren: Nicholas, Cameron, Zachary, Taylor, Jordyn, and Leah. She is also survived by her sisters Aslean Florence and Sally Renea Kindrex and her brother Kasey Kindrex. Geraldine also leaves behind a host of nieces, including special nieces Lekittia Kindrex and Dewanda Thomas, nephews, in-laws, and other family members. Since "Cookie" never met a stranger, she leaves a multitude of friends to cherish her memory.
