Macon, Georgia- Geraldine Hewell Carr, 95, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 12, 2015 at 1:00pm in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. James Duke officiating. The family may be contacted at the residence.
Mrs. Carr was born in Meigs, Georgia to the late William Adkin Hewell and Willie McNeil Hewell and was preceded in death by her husband, Guyton Carr, Sr. She was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church. After raising her only child, she began a 30 year career as a secretary in the Bibb County public schools, beginning at Riley Elementary School in 1964 and retiring from Central High School in 1994.
Survivors include her son, Guyton (Kay) Carr, Jr. of Macon; grandson, Morris (Stacy) Carr of Macon; granddaughter, Kristy Carr of Macon; great grandson, Evan Carr of Macon; and brother, Sam (Betty) Hewell of Jacksonville, FL.

Ms. Carr was such a wonderful, warm, and generous lady. She always had time for a chat when we would see each other walking on Stonewall. She was upbeat and positive and very kind to my girls. My family will miss her!

Ms. Geraldine Carr will be sorely missed by all, ALL, who knew her. She was a magnificent and great lady in every sense of the meaning. We worked together intermittently over an extended period of time. She always was a leader, displayed compassion and a light touch in dealing with others. I extend my deepest condolences and prayer to her extended family.

It was always such a pleasure to run into Mrs Carr. She always was in good spirits and asked me about my siblings that she remembered from her Riley days. She will be deeply missed and I want to be just like her when my golden years get here.

To All Who knew her well,
Mrs. Carr had retired before I met her, but she never forgot her friends and she never met a stranger, because they quickly became her great friend. She always spoke kindly of and kindly to everyone. She was a part of Macon that I have sadly missed. A truly Precious Angel.

Guyton & family - It has truly been a blessing to know & love Ms. Carr for the past 30 plus years. I miss her so much already but look forward to the day I see my sweet bubbly friend in heaven. I went to Riley Grammar School from 1963-1970 and remember Mrs. Carr very well. She was always the nicest lady. Sounds like she lived a good long life!

Mrs. Carr was a good friend and neighbor. I loved talking with her over the fence. I have missed her since we moved. I know she will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Her daylillies are all over Macon and Jones County and will serve as a reminder of her for me. I'll keep all the family in my prayers.
