HENSON, Geraldine

Martha (Jerry), soared into the hereafter on October 4, 2012, at the age of 99. An Oklahoma native, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Henson, also of Oklahoma. Married in February 1935, they had two children over the next 14 years. They moved their business and residence to Houston, Texas in 1963 where they lived until his death. Their lives together included many days of fishing and boating along with an active social life in the Houston area. Jerry came to Richmond from Houston in 1996 to become one of the early residents of Cedarfield. She is survived by a son, Kenneth W. Henson of Bozeman, Mo. and a daughter, Patricia Henson Young (Max) of Richmond, Va; three grandchildren, Richard Wayne Henson of Bozeman, Jennifer Henson Lewis (Ryan) of Placentia, CA. and Mary Lynn Henson of Bozeman; and five great grandchildren, Jenna, Jordan, Zaiden, Kiera and Lilyana. Mrs. Henson is remembered for her warmth and quick wit and she will be missed. A reception in her honor will be held on October 17 at 3 p.m. in the Great Room at Cedarfield. Her final remains will be interred at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, OK. alongside the grave of her late husband and those of her parents, Dick and Opal Pitts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedarfield's Good Samaritan Fund. The family is deeply grateful for the staff at Cedarfield.

It was indeed an honor to have known "Grandma" Henson. She was a strong and graceful woman with a wonderful sense of humor. Wish I could have seen more of her, but she will be fondly remembered. She reminded me of my own grandmother (Eleanor Brickman) quite a bit. BobJohnson (husband of Brenda Young)

Geraldine Martha Henson was the epitome of a loving wife and mother, a geneorus person who was filled with wisdom and love. She takes those qualities with her as she joins her beloved husband in eternity, leaving behind treasured memories and certain love in the hearts of friends and family forever. Josh Henson, Nephew
