Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

KARL, Geraldine Anna – Of Flint, age 94, died Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.


Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Road, Flint,


Father Thomas Firestone officiating.


Burial in St. John's Cemetery in Davison.


Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Multiple Sclerosis.


Visitation 4pm-8pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass.


Geraldine was born in Richfield Township, Michigan on August 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Maschino) Steinmetz. On February 12 1950 she married Clare Karl and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1997. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed tending her garden and traveling, collecting and painting angels. Mrs. Karl retired in 1982, from AC Spark Plug after 27 years of service.


Surviving are children, Allan, Len and wife Katherine, and Linda Thomas;


grandchildren, Andrew Thomas, Kristrian Karl and Michael Thomas;


and great-grandchildren, Emma and Luke Thomas, Meagan and Andrew Polick.


She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Roselee, Virginia and Veronica Bremmer.

SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS ! Jerry was a gift from God to me and I Miss her dearly! She was a wonderful friend and enjoyable to be with. She will live on in my heart and my life. My sincere condolences.

Wonderful family member who was always cheerful, willing to help anyone in need. We have great memories of the past and I still recall the beautiful wedding of Geraldine & Clare.

Al and family. I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a wonderful friend and such a nice; kind woman. She helped with our Sunday School program many years ago and she was very loved by all the children and all of us. I have missed seeing her for the past few years. God bless you!
