Not sure what to say?

More "family" from Valencia, Spain. I, Alvaro, and my family know the Mears a long time ago (I think since 1994 when we were invited to a wonderful and amusing dinner at their place). In the summer of 2003 the family opened the doors of their home for me again, where I stayed a whole month, feeling completely at home. I will never have words to express my thankfulness to her and the whole wonderful family.

In name of the whole family we want to send Pat, Tricia, and Eddie our most...

I am writing from Spain in Europe. I was a Spanish student who lived 6 months in Gerry’s house with Pat, Eddie and Tricia. Even I have been many years without contact with the Mears’ family, my aunt Christine Dugan kept me updated about their lives.I am very sad to hear about Gerry’s death.
I spent a really good time when I lived in Grand Rapids with all the family, they were so kind to me, and I learned not only “English” but many things about life with them.

I will miss Gerry very much. She was a rare bread in Grand Rapids. Her legacy will flourish as she made sure EGR School District implemented a K-12 Foreign Language Program. It would not have happened without her passion and diligence. She found her place in life and touched the hearts of those who knew her. You have taught us well, Gerry.

Gerry attend our fitness classes at East Hills Athletic Club for many years. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed life. We were privileged to know her. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time. May God comfort and carry you through. Sincerely, The Group Fitness team at East Hills.

I'm reading this on line on a Greek island. I heard from Chuck Bernadini last week that Gerri was very ill. Bic,Tim Kit, Peter and I send our sympathy. There's a picture on our wall of Peter playing the tiny violin Gerri gave him.

Although we had not kept in touch over the years, I still remember Gerry as a lovely and gracious person. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Our thoughts are with you in your sorrow.

We met Gerry O'Conner when she visited Pat for the first time after he moved to Grand Rapids from New York. We told him then, she was a "keeper".
As time went on, we gave each other wedding showers and baby showers and Gerry even encouraged BJ to learn to play tennis. First there were lessons at Ramblewood with Anne Smary-better known as slugger! Then the three of us joined a league and played matches for a couple of years.
As the babies came along, we saw less and less of each...

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
