Dear Debbie and Elizabeth and to all our many loving Shanahan and our beloved cousins and friends. Phil and I loved Gerry. When we came to Charlestown, Phil was about 2 1/2 and I was 4 1/2 and the first person who wanted to meet her new cousins was Gerry. She asked Nana Boylan and Aunt Ma if she could take the boys down the park. She introduced us to a new world. This was not just once, it was many times for a couple of years. Gerry and I were friends growing up together in Charlestown. We lived across the street from each other and both went to St. Francis. I remember the summer she broke her arm jumping the benches over by the "little pool" at the Doherty Playground. It didn't stop her from continuing to jump the benches. My condolences to all the family.

She will be missed by the many people she worked with at Memorial School.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I was fortunate to be able to have Gerry as a math tutor in my classroom for a few years. She loved giving the students math challenges for them to solve. She will be missed here at Memorial School.
